Trying to get back to it...

Day 10
August 14, 2012

Okay...so it's been a while!  I hate that, but a lot has gone on in the Plyler household.  Thursday I went to Charlotte to visit my friend, Anna.  Her and her husband just built a new house and I got to see it for the first time all finished.  Then on Friday my friend, Denise came to visit me and see our new house!    It was a really good start to the weekend...but it got even better!

On Saturday afternoon Dan and I found out that we will be expecting a new little bundle of joy come April, 2013!!!!  We are thrilled!!!  We had been only "trying" for 2 months and were so excited to see the "pregnant" on the digital test.  So with that said, I have been wondering if I should continue running.  I took the rest of the weekend to be excited with Dan about expecting a baby brother or sister for Dylan :)

Then Monday came...the day before going back to school.  I actually got into the shower without even thinking about running.  It wasn't until I was out that I thought to myself..."I should have gone running..." But since I'm in the early stage of pregnancy, I let it go!

Anyhoo...this morning was my first day of school and I decided since I have to get up early anyway I would get up early enough to run at least a mile.

So here are my stats...

Time: 19min 32sec
Distance:  1.5 total miles
Run: 1.5 miles
Rate/run: 12 min mile
Calories burned: 205

I also did some measurements this morning.  Even though I'm sure it's going to go up real soon since I'm preggers!  May as well keep it up :)

Weight:  153.6
High waist: 30 inches
Low waist: 36 inches
Hips: 41 inches
Thigh: 24 inches
Arm: 11 inches

A few down, a few up but ok!  I am not going to beat myself up...I'm going to continue to run and get to that 5K.  Maybe I'll try for a few months after the new baby is born.  My goal can still be reached...just may take a little bit longer!!!

Feeling Good!

Day 9
August 7, 2012

This is a little late...but here none-the-less!!!

Last week on Thursday, I decided to give the running thing all I had because I was going out of town for the night (Charlotte to see Anna) and then I was going to have company for another night (Friday Denise came). So there was going to be a lot of eating, drinking and being merry all weekend long! I felt I gave it my all and here are my stats for the day...

Total miles run: 1.8
Total miles walk: .41
Total time run: 25 min.
Total time walk: 5:24
Avg. Min/mile: 11 min.
Calories burned: 258

A Muggy Morning

Day 9
August 7, 2012

This is the last full week of summer break for me. I start back to work (I'm a school teacher) next Tuesday.

I want to continue running when I go back to work. Hopefully running in the morning before I begin getting ready.

Dylan and I ran this morning around 9am and it was MUGGY!!! I felt sooo tired, hot and a little nauseous. I rested for a few minutes then took a cool shower. After that I felt much better. I got dressed and ready to meet up with my hubby, Daniel, for lunch at my favorite place! The Gourmet Shop, downtown Columbia, has the BEST chicken salad. I like mine on a croissant with provolone cheese and a side of their pesto pasta! YUM! It's probably not the best lunch for me but for my last week of summer break, it was a great treat.

This past week I have been running, I have not "dieted". Instead, I have had ice cream almost every single night while watching the Olympics! I still lost so I'm not really going to cut back just yet. I'm sure once school starts back I won't have much time to snack so hopefully it will resolve itself :)

Here are my stats for today's run...

Total miles run: 1.77
Total time run: 21:42
Avg. Min/mile: 12:16
Calories burned: 227

I like that it doesn't take too much time to work out! With a 5 min warm-up and cool-down, I'm averaging only 35 minutes per workout! I know once I get stronger and faster I could go longer but for now my body seems to think that's enough!

To Infinity and Beyond...

Day 5, Day 6, Day 7 and Day 8
August 3, 2012--August 6, 2012

Ok...So I haven't blogged in a few days but that doesn't mean I haven't run!!!  On Sunday, August 5th, I said to my husband "I have run 6 days out of 7".  I was very proud of myself!  The only day I did not run was Saturday.  I figured taking the day off to enjoy my family was much needed!

Here are the stats from Friday, August 3rd (Day 5)

Time: 29min 51sec
Distance:  2.22 total miles
Run: 1.51 miles
Walk: .71 miles
Rate/run: 12 min mile
Rate/walk: 16 min mile
Calories burned: 263

On Saturday, August 4th (Day 6) I decided to take the day off.  I slept in, drank coffee, made breakfast for the family and watched some Olympics on television.  Then we went out to Lake Murray.  For the past few years my husbands firm, Davidson and Lindemann, PA, invites all the associates to the lake for a "lake day".  My husband went out there early to take his parent jet ski.  Dylan, my son, and I met him out there for Hudson's BBQ and lake fun.  We were pretty busy all afternoon so I decided to take it easy on the running.  But that was the only day I took a break and it felt good!

On Sunday, I got right back into it.  This time I was able to go running without Dylan and the BOB.  It was just me, the road and Pandora!  Dylan stayed home with Daddy :)  I found that I shed more than a minute off my time running without the BOB.  I tried to push myself since I didn't run the day before.  I was pretty excited when I heard the lady on my RunKeeper app say that I had made it to 2 miles :)

Here are the stats from Sunday, August 5th (Day 7)

Time: 23min 33sec
Distance:  2.50 total miles
Run: 2.50 miles
Walk: 0.00 miles
Rate/run: 9 min mile
Calories burned: 384

Today is Monday, August 6th (Day 8)!!!  I decided to make Monday's my weight and measurement tracking day.  So not only will I share my stats for running but will also share the progress made to my body so far.  For the past few days I have only needed to track my running.  I have been running longer so my walking is usually a 5 minute cool-down which I don't track.  Instead of running one way and walking back on my trail, I have been running almost the whole way.  It's awesome to see myself get better so quickly :) I am really proud of myself and I'm looking forward to that 5K.  Still need to figure out which one!

Here are the stats for today...

Time: 22min 50sec
Distance:  1.81 total miles
Run: 1.81 miles
Walk: 0.00 miles
Rate/run: 12 min mile
Calories burned: 235

And here are the measurements for today...

Weight:  152.8 (-2.2)
High waist: 30 inches (-1)
Low waist: 37 inches (-3)
Hips: 42 inches (-1)
Thigh: 24 3/4 inches (-3/4)
Arm: 10 1/2 inches (-1/2)

Looking at these results, I am amazed!  It's just a little but it means so much.  Every little bit counts.  I just can't believe I lost in each part measured!  Feeling very successful this week :)

A busy 2 days

Day 3 and Day 4
August 1 and 2, 2012

Yesterday was a busy day.  I wasn't sure if I would have time to run.  But really, I just HAD to make time.  I realized yesterday that if I was going to do this and succeed, then I am going to have to make an effort.  There are going to be some days that I won't have a choice and I won't be able to run.  But yesterday I had a choice and I like to think I make the right choice!

Dylan woke up later than usual yesterday.  I actually woke him up a little after 8:30 am.  On any other day that would be awesome but yesterday we were going to Florence and I had planned to leave by 9:30 am.  That left me with little time to run, get him ready and get myself ready to go.  So I made the decision to just go for it, got him up, got running ready and went for it.

I chose to nix the usual route and stayed close to the house.  Dylan and I ran around the block a few times until my RunKeeper said I had met the mile mark!  I was so proud of myself for following through and getting it done!  After that we went home, got ready, and hit the road for Florence, SC.  We were going to see a friends new baby boy!  We had planned to leave at 9:30am but we left at 10:30 am...not too bad :)

Here are some stats from yesterday...

Time: 14 min 52 sec
Distance:  1.24 total miles
Run: 1.24 miles
Walk: 0.0 miles
Rate/run: 12 min mile
Calories burned: 187

And here is a picture of me and baby Trey...

Congratulations to my good friends, RP and Angela Gensel :)

Today was an awesome day for me!  It was by far the BEST running day!  I live close to Target. So today I decided to run all the way to Target (I looked up how far it was on my MAPS app) which is almost 1 mile from my house.  I didn't say that I would run back.  I just thought I would see how it went and then make that decision when it was time.  The point of going to Target was to kill two birds with one stone.  I needed to go anyway to get a drying rack for Dylan's cloth diapers.  I wanted to dry them outside in the sun.  They say it's better for the diapers!  We love Fuzzibunz and Bumgenius, by the way :)  So, I figure why not run there and get it all done?!  It was great!

We RAN all the way there.  Took a 5 minute break inside to get the drying rack and cool off! (It's upper 90's right now)  Then, made the decision to RUN back!!!  Towards the last leg of the run, I got extremely tired but thankfully Pandora had an upbeat playlist on Black Eyed Peas Radio that I made it!!!  And it felt GOOD!  I am so proud of myself :)

Here are today's stats...

Time: 23 min 13 sec
Distance:  1.88 total miles
Run: 1.88 total miles
Walk: 0.0 miles
Rate/run: 12 min mile
Calories burned: 270

After 4 days of running, I am feeling really good.  I hope I can keep this up when I go back to work.  I am a teacher and I am currently on summer vacation. I have 1 full week left :(  I am going to miss my little man while I'm at work but I will look forward to our running time together.  I hope he will learn from me and work hard to stay healthy!
